Gran Alacant is a neighbourhood of Santa Pola which welcomes residents of all ages; children for whom a second primary school is being built, those of working age and retirees. There are home owners who have their second residence in Gran Alacant and why not when the area benefits from more than 300 sunny days per year. We have the beautiful Carabasi beach with its walkways that protect the sand dunes and where activities such as paddle surfing, snorkeling, kayaking take place and for those that enjoy relaxing, sunbeds can be rented. In Gran Alacant there are lots of opportunities for walking, cycling or just soaking up the scenery and wildlife with paths running to the El Faro lighthouse and the Gran Alacant skywalk as well as in the Clot the Galvany nature reserve park. Gran Alacant has a wide selection of supermarkets, smaller shops,  restaurants and bars to chose from. The latter offering entertainment in the form of quiz and karaoke nights as well as sports coverage.

Santa Pola is a short bus or car journey from Gran Alacant. The castle or walled fortress in Santa Pola hosts exhibitions, medieval markets, weddings and end of year events. Just a 5 minute walk from there is the port area where you can enjoy a beverage, meal or a stroll around it to see the many boats or yachts moored there. Only 15 minutes away from Gran Alacant is the cosmopolitan city of Alicante. For those interested in history there are two castles, the MARQ museum with EU Intelletual Property Office and the Ciudad de luz
